Artisan Exterior began in 2008 with a single container of natural stone and a hunch that Australians deserved better. Frustrated by the poor range and reliability of pavers and pool coping on offer, we started sourcing our own, travelling to quarries and makers around the world to find stone worth building a life around. Two mobile displays on the backs of utes became warehouses and studios across the eastern seaboard. The family at the centre of it hasn't changed, and neither has the belief that started it.

Every surface finish in our range earns its place. Whether it’s stone, porcelain, clay or glass, we choose each one for how it behaves in the real world, underfoot, in and around water, in the Australian sun and in the spaces you live in, not just how it looks on a studio floor. The same limestone that surrounds the pool can transition through to the living room behind it, so inside and out read as one considered space. Kahvi Limestone, Alentaa Travertine, Harmaa Marble: each has its place, and we'll help you find yours. That's the difference between selling a tile and helping curate the space where years of birthdays, barbecues and slow Sunday mornings happen.

Our range is sourced from quarries and makers across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, and we visit each location in person, regularly, not just to place an order. It's how we check quality with a fine-tooth comb and ensure our strict standards are maintained, and it’s integral to how relationships turn into exclusives: our partnership with Hisbalit, the Spanish maker of the glass mosaics we've championed for years, means nobody else in the Australian market carries their range, this applies to many of our Stone, Porcelain and Glass Mosaics ranges. That same attention follows every shipment home, with our strict in-house QC process ensuring what you specified is what turns up.

Every surface in our range is chosen and tested to hold up under real scrutiny, because architects specifying a residential build, a commercial fit-out or a multi-residential development can't afford it not to.
